The water and sewer utility Apa-Canal Chisinau (ACC) has announced the contractor to perform the rehabilitation of the city’s wastewater treatment plant. The 24.2 million euro contract was assigned to the winning bidder Consortium Passavant Energy & Environment GmbH & Ludwig Pfeiffer Hoch-und Tiefbau GmbH & Co. KG, IPN reports.
Bids were called in a tender conducted in November 2016 with the support of the EBRD, EIB and the Neighborhood Investment Facility. Fifteen companies from thirteen countries participated. ACC says the winning bidder met all the requirements in the ToR and was assessed as being entirely capable of completing the project within the set budget limits. The rehabilitation will include repairing the plant’s existing structures, such as primary and secondary decanters and aeration basins for activated sludge, as well as building new structures, such as a wastewater pumping station and desanders. Also, a new sludge treatment line will be constructed. The project must be completed in 900 days.
