The French Embassy in Chisinau launched today a small projects competition: Decentralized Cooperation France – Moldova. “The Embassy is the project leader for extension of the Regional Development Strategy and still wants to be a partner for regional development,” said Jérémie Petit, First Councilor, Councilor for Cooperation and Cultural Action of the French Diplomatic Mission in Chisinau. “It is a new project aimed at developing communities in Moldova and France, developing partnerships,” said the French diplomat.
The project provides financial aid for both Moldovan and French communities. The joint projects will be funded by partners from Moldova and France, in particular concerning the transfer of experience, and will be implemented within one year. The French Embassy will provide for each project 2,000 euros and 1,000 euros will come from the Francophone University Agency. The counselor of the Embassy anticipates that there will be 5-6 projects, but maybe even more, depending on their quality.”We want to contribute to its sustainability through the development of project capabilities. We really want to encourage young people and entrepreneurship. We encourage local initiatives and protect the patrimony,” said at the same event representative of the Francophonie University Agency for the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine, Ruxanda Turcanu, a project partner of the French Embassy.
