Kyrgyzstan’s State Committee for Industry and British Geo-Service sign agreement on cooperation

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed in the field of technical cooperation in geology between the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use (SCIESU) of Kyrgyzstan and the British Geological Survey.

The press service of the SCIESU reported that the event was attended by Deputy Chairman of the State Committee for Industry, Energy and Subsoil Use Azis Saparaliev, Director of Science of British Geological Survey Martin Smith, British Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Robin Ord-Smith.

The main objectives of the agreement are the accumulation of experience in research in the field of geoscience, the exchange of technical information, the enhancement of friendly relations between the parties.

Saparaliev expressed his confidence that the cooperation of the organizations will be useful and fruitful for increasing the potential of the geological service of Kyrgyzstan in the areas of development of national geological and geophysical research, staff training, geological mapping, evaluation of mineral resources and groundwater, etc.

In turn, Mr. Smith also said that he was happy for this event, which develops promising relationships between departments.
